SS
The SurfeX SS is purpose-built for fabricators who demand superior surface finishing and deburring without the need for edge rounding. Its dual drum head configuration works in sequence—aggressively removing burrs, slag, and oxide layers in the first pass, then independently refining the surface to a clean, consistent finish in the second. The result is a smooth, treatment-ready surface that flows directly into coating, painting, welding, or assembly—without unnecessary processing steps.
- Maximum Width (mm):600, 800
- Abrasive Modules:Drum Heads x2
- Processable Materials:Stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, brass and cold plate
- Power (kW):18
The SurfeX SS delivers focused, dual-drum finishing for fabricators who need maximum surface quality without edge rounding. Its two independently configured drum heads work in sequence—first stripping away burrs, slag, and oxide layers, then refining the surface to a smooth, uniform finish ready for coating, welding, or assembly. Built for precision and efficiency, the SS removes unnecessary processing steps and channels all performance into the surface quality that matters most.

Pure Surface Performance
Designed for fabricators where surface quality is the priority, the SurfeX SS maximizes deburring and surface finishing with its dual drum head configuration. Without rotary brush heads, all processing power is directed toward superior material removal and consistent surface refinement—delivering a clean, smooth finish in a single continuous pass.

Principle
Drum Head #1 (Wide Sanding Belt) Module
Positioned at the front of the conveyor, the first drum head performs primary deburring, deslagging, and oxide layer removal. Leveraging Evotec's automated abrasive compensation and belt tracking, it aggressively eliminates vertical burrs and surface imperfections from laser cutting, plasma cutting, and punching processes—preparing the workpiece for the refinement stage.
Drum Head #2 (Wide Sanding Belt) Module
Independently configured and positioned at the rear of the conveyor, the second drum head performs precision surface refinement. Using a finer abrasive grit than the first stage, it smooths surface irregularities left by initial deburring, delivering a consistent, clean finish across the entire workpiece. This independent configuration allows the two heads to be optimized separately for each stage of processing.
Workpiece Retention & Conveyor Module
The conveyor system features a high-damping belt with variable frequency speed control, ensuring smooth, stable transport during processing. Workpieces are securely held in place through a combination of pressure rollers and either high-negative-pressure vacuum adsorption or high-strength magnetic retention, depending on the material type. This system maintains precise alignment and stability throughout each finishing stage.
