Lamiera 2025 brought together machine builders, fabricators, and technology partners looking for practical ways to future-proof their sheet metal operations. For Evotec, it was the first time many Italian and European manufacturers saw our systems up close.

Throughout the show, one theme came up again and again: teams are under pressure to produce more with fewer skilled operators, while still meeting higher quality and coating standards. Many visitors told us that manual grinding is still a bottleneck—hard to control, hard to scale, and dependent on experienced workers who are increasingly difficult to replace.

FabGo 300 was our answer to that daily reality, and Lamiera gave us a chance to prove it in front of real parts and real questions.

Who We Are: A Finishing Partner, Not Just a Machine Supplier

Since 2014, Evotec has focused on deburring, edge rounding, and surface finishing for industries where poor edges and inconsistent surfaces are simply not acceptable—metal fabrication, energy, automotive, appliance, and precision sheet metal.

The FabGo 300 Series took center stage as our compact solution for automatic deburring and edge rounding of laser-cut and punched parts. During live demos, visitors watched typical sheet metal parts move from sharp and burr-heavy to smooth, rounded, and coating-ready in a single pass.

Key capabilities that resonated on the stand:

• Multi-directional rotary brush technology
  Visitors saw how the brushes followed inner and outer contours, producing stable edge rounding without washing out features.
• Front sanding belt for burr removal
  The combination of belt + brushes handled vertical burrs and laser dross effectively—especially important for parts coming straight from laser cutting and punching.
• Adjustable feed speed and pressure
  Operators could dial in the right balance between throughput and finish, a must-have for shops handling a mix of material thicknesses and geometries.
• Operator-friendly HMI
  Many visitors commented that the interface looked “simple enough for new staff,” which matters in an environment where experienced operators are limited.

What Visitors Asked Us Most

Over the days, certain questions came up repeatedly:

• “Can FabGo 300 handle both stainless and carbon steel?”
• “How thin can the sheet be without risk of bending?”
• “Can we get enough edge rounding to improve powder coating in one pass?”
• “How long does it take to switch from one part family to another?”

These questions helped us show how FabGo 300 fits into real production scenarios—not just into spec sheets.

Working Side by Side with Alpemac

Our collaboration with Alpemac was a key part of the Lamiera story. As a trusted name in Italy’s metal processing market, Alpemac brought local context, customer knowledge, and long-term relationships; Evotec brought the technology and application expertise in deburring and edge rounding for laser parts.

Together on the stand, we:

• Mapped visitor parts and processes to concrete FabGo 300 configurations
• Discussed maintenance and support plans tailored to Italian factories
• Explored how Evotec’s broader lineup (EdgeX, Surfex, SlagMaster, etc.) could support future expansion beyond the first machine

The result was not just interest in the equipment, but also confidence that local support and long-term partnership are in place.

What We Learned from Italian and European Fabricators

Lamiera 2025 was not just a show; it was a listening exercise. Here are a few insights we took home:

1. Edge rounding for coating is now a must-have, not a “nice-to-have”
   Many visitors tied their finishing needs directly to coating performance—especially powder coating on laser-cut parts. The link between rounded edges and coating adhesion was well understood, but implementing it consistently was still a challenge for many shops.
2. Automatic deburring for laser-cut parts must stay simple
   Fabricators want automation, but not if it means complex setups and long training cycles. The feedback reinforced our direction: keep recipes, adjustments, and changeovers intuitive.
3. Floor space and energy use matter
   Compact footprints and efficient dust extraction were frequent talking points. Shops want to do more in the same space, without introducing energy-hungry steps that create new constraints.
4. Service and spare parts availability are decisive
   Several visitors told us that they hesitated in the past to adopt new brands because of support risk. Our partnership with Alpemac directly addressed that concern and will continue to shape how we structure service and parts across Europe.

These insights will feed back into our product roadmap as we continue to refine FabGo 300 and the rest of the Evotec portfolio.
